I hope you had a great festive period. We’ve been busy putting together videos/photos/story for the looming Kickstarter campaign. I thought it could be fun to share some shots from our prototype and development process.
Some of the different smart inkswe trialled. Before committing to our first professional print-run, we had to make up inks from pigment, ink vehicle and emulsification agent.
When testing inks, we used an air brush and a standard inkjet print out. Once we were happy with the performance of the ink we migrated to the screen-printing method (used in the two prints on the left).
Behind the scenes during the Kickstarter Video shoot. Our friend not settling for ‘good enough’ when it comes to the plant placement!
Some previous circuitboard iterations, as well as the polymer backplate.
Output from one of the main Python scripts. It took a surprising amount of time to find an ‘IP Address to Geolocation’ API which we were happy with.
Some sketches from the Typified logo design process. We wanted a visual element which represented code/information in an upbeat, friendly way. As Typified roughly means ‘to represent’ and our products would be ‘art and design’ representations of changing information and the internet.
